Managing Attorney
MEET AISHA
I am Aisha Nanyanzi, the principal attorney at AKN Immigration. Having been through the U.S. immigration system myself, I understand the difficulties of having no immigration status and why a good attorney is necessary to navigate a complex, challenging, and changing U.S.
immigration system.
I was born in Uganda and immigrated to the U.S. in my mid-twenties. When I arrived, I was overwhelmed with how to even begin my journey. My immigration attorney was critical to my path to U.S. citizenship and later hired me as his paralegal. After almost a decade as a paralegal, I graduated from New England Law Boston. I leverage my experience as an immigrant, as a paralegal, and now as an immigration attorney to handle immigration cases of all types whether it be asylum, green cards, naturalization or any humanitarian immigration relief. I have dedicated my life to helping immigrants realize the dream of U.S. citizenship. I will represent you with empathy, compassion, and a consistently professional work ethic to accompany my exceptional proficiency and experience in the field of immigration law.
Education: New England Law Boston, JD
Bar Admissions: Massachusetts, Arizona
Court Admissions: District of Massachusetts, District of Arizona
Professional Affiliation: American Immigration Lawyers Association

Associate Attorney
Shamim Namuyanja
My name is Shamim Namuyanja, and I am an immigration attorney at AKN Immigration LLC, where I have the privilege of serving individuals and families navigating the U.S. immigration system. I bring to this work not only my legal training, but also my lived experience as an immigrant and a foreign-trained lawyer from Uganda.
Before moving to the United States, I worked in human rights advocacy in Uganda-supporting vulnerable populations and standing up for fundamental freedoms. That work shaped my commitment to justice and instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility to use the law to uplift and protect others.
After immigrating to the United States and going through the immigration process myself, I developed a strong desire to help others navigate what I know firsthand can be a daunting and emotionally taxing journey. That experience inspired me to pursue my legal career in immigration law, and today, I proudly advocate for clients from all walks of life-both in the U.S. and abroad.
